Our GHD Guam office is seeking to hire an Engineering Intern for a summer internship. Interns will work full-time, providing engineering support to Project Managers, Engineers, and Inspectors.  One can expect to work in a variety of environments, performing both office and field work. The goal of the program is for students to gain real-world experience outside of the classroom. Interns will assume an administrative and engineering support role to complete tasks often assigned to entry-level engineers. Desired skills include, but are not limited to:

In this role, your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Creation of civil drawings including plan views, elevations, profiles and details
• Detailed design of civil engineering systems
• Preparation of civil procurement specifications
• Preparation of construction cost estimates

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with AutoCAD, or similar software, is a plus
• Must be goal orientated, self-motivated, organized and have the ability to work independently in an outdoor environment with a wide range of weather conditions and at times rugged terrain
• Ability to professionally communicate with clients, technical staff and management
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision
• Valid driver's license and good driving record required
• Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil3D
• Basic understanding of Civil and Structural Engineering fundamentals
• Exposure to building design and construction would be advantageous
• Able to balance studies and workload
• Strong communication skills
• Organized and able to meet deadlines
• Flexible and adaptable to changing situations and deadlines
