Principal Software Engineer - Microsoft Edge

The Microsoft Edge browser team, part of the newly established Microsoft AI, needs your help to fulfil our aspirations to make the unquestionably best browser for business. With you as part of our commercial team, we’re sure to succeed! 

The Principal Software Engineer for Microsoft Edge, specifically involves services integration spanning manageability, security and productivity. You’ll work to enable unique service-enabled experiences for Microsoft Edge Commercial customers and to integrate with other Microsoft services. This work will serve the needs of both IT admins as well as helping make enterprise end users more productive. This is a great role that will afford the chance to work with multiple teams and is a sure way to build your networking skills as well as your technical skills. There is a variety of front end and middle tier services work to be done using a variety of modern multitenant services which range from Redis to Microsoft cognitive services to Kubernetes to other internal service frameworks. Working on the modern cross-platform Edge browser will help grow you hone your engineering capabilities, and the agile release cadence makes it easier to get things done. We’re closely connected to customers, and you can use that connection to develop your listening skills and show off your empathy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain front end for Microsoft Edge commercial cloud services. 
• Develop and integrate Microsoft Edge with middle tier cloud services. 
• Work with other Microsoft teams providing similar cloud-powered experiences to provide a coherent customer experience. 
• Be part of an effective feature creprincipw, participating in standup, code and design reviews. 
• Interface with customers, understand needs and empower customer connection

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience
•  Experience using frameworks such as React to author UI  
• Experience building scalable services.  
• Experience building end to end full stack solutions. 
• Ability to learn new skills and operate in a fast-paced and changing environment.<
