BILL is seeking a Director, Strategic Partnerships & Business Development to play a key leadership role, driving the growth and innovation of our product and payment capabilities by sourcing, developing, and managing impactful partnerships.This individual contributor position bridges market needs, internal product vision, and partnership execution—delivering new value to customers and advancing the company's competitive advantage. In this role, you will partner closely with internal stakeholders—including product leaders, P&L owners, and executive sponsors—to shape and execute our partnerships, GTM and payment strategy.

We’re looking for someone with deep expertise in B2B payment monetization, who can identify and implement partnership-driven solutions to address product and customer gaps. You’ll work hand-in-hand with supplier, buyer, issuing, acquiring, and cross-border payment product owners to maximize revenue opportunities and deliver exceptional, scalable products and programs.

Success in this role requires a strong ability to collaborate across functions—including product, marketing, business development, customer success, payment operations, risk, and legal—to drive outcomes aligned with company goals and success metrics.

Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential partners (e.g., fintechs, payment processors, financial institutions, technology vendors) aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead partnership lifecycle: sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Create business cases for new partnerships, forecasting value and measuring ROI.
  • Leverage partnerships to expand product and feature sets, accelerate go-to-market, and drive user adoption.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between internal teams and external partners.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to align partnership initiatives with product and payment capability roadmaps.
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitor research to identify emerging players, industry shifts, and new partnership opportunities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on threats, opportunities, and best practices in an evolving payments and product landscape.

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • 8+ years in strategic partnerships, business development, or product enablement—preferably in payments, fintech, or SaaS.
  • Proven track record of launching new payment or product capabilities through third-party partners.
  • Deep understanding of payments ecosystem, digital platforms, and technology integrations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure deals that deliver business and partner value.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Legal, Finance, Compliance, Marketing, and external organizations.
  • Motivated self-starter with a superior ability to work with a sense of urgency and deliver under tight deadlines/timeframes and thrives in pressurized business situations 
  • Strong history of negotiating and managing complex agreements with card issuers, payment service providers, fintechs and SaaS companies. 
  • Superior executive presence with superb presentation skills who can lead and influence, including strong oral and writing capabilities
