Position, Department: Adjunct Assistant Professor, Electrical Technology, Academic Affairs

Type of Position: Adjunct Faculty, Exempt

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Tuesday and Thursday Evenings, Varies

Pay Range:  AJCR $1,208-$1,344 per credit hour and in accordance with the adjunct table and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: The Electrical Technology program is seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Assistant Professor. The candidate would teach residential electrical construction wiring methods, which include relevant NEC codes, safe practices using tools and materials, and residential blueprint reading. Courses are taught in laboratory and lecture settings. Class meeting times are during the evening hours with some online work completed outside of class.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7 years of relevant electrical construction experience and current Journeyman Electrician license.
  • 5 years of relevant electrical construction experience and current Journeyman Electrician license with Associates level degree.

Required Skills:

  • Must have current knowledge of electrical construction installation methods.
  • Ability to use various presentation methods to lecture and demonstrate within a class or lab environment to diverse audiences.
  • Awareness to identify and promote safe practices while working with a variety of tools and installation operations in a lab environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of relevant electrical construction experience with Bachelors level degree or higher.
  • Current Master Electrician license.
  • 3 years of teaching or training experience within the construction industry.


Preferred Skills:

  • Possess strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
