Job Description:

At Regions, the Corporate Banker is a revenue-producing client coverage/origination banker operating within the Diversified Industries group. Regions’ Diversified Industries Group is an industry-agnostic, geographically segmented team of corporate finance professionals serving public, private, and sponsor-backed companies with revenues of $500million+, with a strategic emphasis on deepening relationships with clients in the $500 million to $2 billion space. In addition to targeting Diversified names, this role is responsible for leveraging industry expertise to originate leadership positions and provide the full suite of banking products and services through effective partnership across the bank. This role involves developing and presenting pitches to clients, designing and leading appropriate transaction processes, guiding deal teams, developing appropriate analytics (e.g., cash flow models, valuation and comparable analysis), and negotiating and structuring transactions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Originates new business through new and existing client relationships in the assigned geographic area

  • Manages and grows the portfolio, ensuring strong credit quality and relationship performance

  • Leads the preparation of pitches and materials supporting client strategy

  • Contributes to credit decisioning through analysis, structuring, and risk assessment

  • Creates and manages strategic, long-term relationships with client decision makers (Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Offer (CFO), Treasurers, Private Equity Group Partners and Principals, etc.)

  • Executes prospecting strategies to build new relationships

  • Participates and leads client meetings, client planning sessions, and monthly product partner meetings

  • Guides transaction processes from initial engagement through final close, including deal structure, financial modeling, internal approval/compliance processes, and documentation

  • Communicates and interacts with both core and extended client team members from across the firm, and other internal partners and product areas

  • Maintains Customer Relationship Management system discipline and adheres to operational and risk standards

  • Participates in the recruitment, development, and training of junior banking teammates

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. 

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of corporate and universal banking experience

  • Experience developing others as a mentor and idea leader

Required Certifications/Licensures

  • Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 79 and 63 licenses, or the ability to obtain both within six (6) months of employment

Preferences

  • Corporate lending experience
