Job Summary

The Principal Business Systems Specialist is a primary technical resource for the Salesforce.com platform within the Surescripts' Information Systems group. This person will provide technical direction and support for the Surecripts' implementation of Salesforce.com in the areas of solution Architecture, Design, Configuration Development and Software Integration with other Surescripts enterprise information systems or third-party systems to meet the business needs.

Responsibilities

Solution Architecture

  • The Solution Architect will hold end-to-end responsibilities for the analysis, design, build, test, and deployment of enterprise level solutions including the assessment of viable solution options, providing industry best practices and establishing trusted advisor status with Business and Technology stakeholders
  • Technical ownership of Surescripts' Salesforce.com architecture.  Identify and implement architectural changes or extend the existing architecture to support changes in functionality required.
  • Take a leadership role in coordinating cross-departmental projects and activities that will impact the Surescripts Salesforce and other enterprise information systems architecture.
  • Create and maintain the Salesforce.com development life cycle (SDLC) in a manner consistent with those in place for company's release management process.

Business Analysis

  • As assigned, support a Business Analyst role to understand departmental requirements and create design requirements and documentation to support these requests.
  • translate business requirements to the functional capabilities of the application

Development, Configuration and System Administration

  • Develop and deploy configuration changes and other engineering tasks (including programming, software deployment and integration) to implement changes to the Surescripts Salesforce.com environment.
  • Provide training and development support to departments seeking customized reports from related Salesforce.com content.
  • Input to and compliance with the Salesforce product group's change control protocols.
  • Participate in the testing and verification of program logic, data processing, and error resolution related to the Salesforce.com applications.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Salesforce.com user manuals and guidelines and design artifacts as determined for the project or function implementation.
  • Install Salesforce.com software products, APIs and 3rd party solutions for Salesforce.com as required.

Other

  • Keep current on all feature and function changes implemented by Salesforce.com and other CRM vendors and make recommendations to the Salesforce.com Information Systems team on future directions of the tool.
  • Direct research on extensions of existing Salesforce functionality using new technology and technology offered by Saleforce.com partners (via the 'App Exchange' or other sources)
  • Forecast growth and capacity requirements within our Salesforce.com system to support requested functionality enhancements and staffing growth.  This will involve active monitoring and reporting on production activities using Salesforce.com specific tools as well as general server and network performance utilities.
  • Collaborate with analysts, architects, designers, database engineers and other software development staff (internally and with selected partners) that work on other applications requiring interface with Salesforce.com.
  • Train and provide guidance to Surescripts staff as required

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in software engineering, computer science, business administration or in another technology or business related field or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of experience in software development, database administration, systems operations or other related areas
  • 2+ years of experience in advanced configuration including Data Loader, Workflow Automation, and Process Builder
  • 2+ years of experience in the configuration, installation and deployment of Salesforce.com  administrative modules including user administration, security (profiles and controls), data management, communication templates/emails and system monitoring
  • 2+ years of experience in technology management in one of the following areas: Engineering, Operations, Project
