The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Sr. Manager Research Support.

CORE JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager, Research Support leads the research program teams to ensure successful system implementation and upgrades. Specifically, the Sr. Manager, Research Support oversees the  
day-to-day operations and resources of research staff and supports programs for their growth and development.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

1.    Conducts meetings with research staff and ensures functions are coordinated in a timely and 
accurate manner.
2.   Provides technical support and resolves operational problems.
3.   Oversees department budget and identifies areas of opportunity for cost reduction.
4.    Assists in the preparation and publication of manuscripts.
5.   Recruits and trains research staff and prepares performance reports and disciplinary 
recommendations for the leadership team.
6.   Analyzes reports, data briefs, and auxiliary publications for new topic modules.
7.   Defines and produces indicators for a data visualization platform.
8.   Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the 
unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on 
controls within the function and on University policy and proced ures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
•     Knowledge of business and management principles.
•     Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
•     Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan .
•      Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
•     Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.


Department Specifics:


•     Provide direct support to BCSR directors
•     Effectively delegate and supervise the work of BCSR staff members
Core_ Senior Manager, Research Support

•     Direct, manage, and implement BCSR operations
•     Conduct team meetings to ensure services are coordinated and provided accurately and timely
•     Carry out billing processes and invoicing for BCSR services
•     Prepare reports on BCSR usage, services, rates, billing, trainings and publications, etc.
•     Conduct consultations and prepare cost estimates on BCSR services for specific project needs
•     Provide support to team and resolve problems
•     Recruit  and  onboard  sta ff, provide  one-on-one  coaching,  prepare  performance  
evaluations,  and  perform other HR related tasks
•     Provide supervision and training on research activities to BCSR staff members, users, 
graduate students, and volunteers
•     Serve as liaison between BCSR and service users, other departments, outside organizations and 
external sites
•     Establish and maintain relationships with doctors, clinic staff, and community partners
•     Review study protocols and provide support with project start up activities for PRMC and IRB 
submissions
•     Oversee participant recruitment and retention efforts for multiple research projects at 
different sites, including: UH ealth, SCCC clinics, J MH , and  other Community clinics
•     Supervise direct research support services in both English and Spanish, including: 
pre-screening reviews of medical charts using Cerner and EPIC systems, screening interviews, 
in-clinic and community-based recruitment, informed consent process, participant's interviews and 
follow-ups, specimen collection, participants enrollment and tracking including VELOS.
•     Perform bio-behavioral interventions on Cognitive Behavioral Stress Management (CBSM) for 
Prostate Cancer survivors
•     Manage regulatory binders and participant study records<
