Job Description
We are looking for an ambitious Junior Accountant to provide support to the Finance department. The ideal candidate is someone with excellent organization ability, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and familiarity with our accounting software.
The Junior Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager. They will have an amazing opportunity to gain exposure and experience within the field, by owning and performing a range of administrative duties important to the successful day-to-day operations of the organization in the areas of accounting and general office support.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the cash flow cycle process and forecasting, including customer billing and collections.
- Manage vendor management and accounts payable.
- Ensure transactions are posted accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage and ensure customer contract terms are up to date in SFDC for closed opportunities.
- Assist in the financial month-end close process, including expense accruals, ledger account reconciliations, reviewing and analyzing discrepancies.
- Assist in the annual financial audit.
- Assist with other various accounting projects and reporting.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office and accounting software, i.e. QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks with timeliness and attention to detail.
- Excellent math skills and ability to spot numerical discrepancies and errors.
- A level of understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Excellent written/oral communication and customer service skills.
- BA/BS Education in accounting, finance, or relevant fields.
- One to two years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Ideally located within or near Greater Boston area
