Cook, Part Time (Eligible: Tipped Pool Program)

Compensation Rate: $13.75/hr

What you get to do:

As a Cook, you’ll prepare high quality food that meets SeaWorld standards by following menu specifications. You will follow all safety and HACCP guidelines, use proper protective gear, and test food temperatures. You will also:

• Engage with ambassadors and guests alike with the highest levels of service excellence
• Ensure proper portion and recipe execution through use of established tools
• Execute food preparation and cooking of raw vegetables, proteins, sauces and other using various kitchen equipment
• Ensure highest standards of food quality and product presentation through menu adherence
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, sanitation and safety and assigned kitchen and food prep work areas
• Maintain product and supply stocks of assigned kitchen / food prep / workspace locations which includes large walk-in coolers and freezers
• Perform other duties as assigned

What it takes to succeed:

• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to work with all food types, including food allergens, in any dining facility
• At least two years of cooking experience or a combination of cooking experience and culinary arts school
• A diverse background of QSR, full service restaurant, high volume, multi-unit operations preferred
• Basic knife skills
• Ability to pass SafeStaff training and RCS Responsible Vendor *Training (alcohol)
• Ability to train on and use protective gear and kitchen equipment
• Ability to stand for entire shift
• Ability to lift, carry and push/pull up to 55 lbs.
• Ability to use cleaning chemicals as well as work in all weather conditions
• Scheduling flexibility
• Ability to multi task in a fast-paced, high-production environment
• Strong communication, interpersonal and guest service skills
• Ability to prepare special dietary meals
• Valid state driver's license preferred
• In-depth food safety and allergen knowledge a plus
