About the role

Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Clinical Nutrition Manager for St. Bernard Hospital, a 176-bed Safety Net community hospital located on the south side of Chicago, Illinois.

This position has a strong focus on advancing clinical nutrition programs, supporting interdisciplinary collaboration, and driving strategic initiatives that enhance patient care and outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the clinical nutrition program and diet office at St. Bernard Hospital
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop one Registered Dietitian and 3 Diet Office Workers
  • Provide direct patient care to patients in the 10-bed ICU and attend ICU rounds daily
  • Manage Sodexo’s menu management system, HealthTouch
  • Ensure DOH/State/Federal and Sodexo standards are being upheld
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives, including malnutrition identification and reimbursement optimization
  • Participate in hospital-wide committees and strategic initiatives to advance clinical nutrition services
  • Provide training and education to the food service staff and healthcare professionals

What You Bring

  • Registered Dietitian credentials and Illinois state licensure
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and one year of leadership experience
  • Strong leadership and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a self‑directed, team‑oriented environment
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards in a hospital setting
  • Passion for enhancing the patient experience and improving outcomes for the populations served

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement:

Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:

Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

 

Credentials Requirement:

Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.  In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hireCertification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
