Production Control Clerk

- Ensuring Seamless Operations in Shipping and Scheduling

Location: Georgetown, KY

Job Purpose: Reporting directly to the Production Control Manager, the Production Control (Shipping/Scheduling) Clerk plays a pivotal role in our manufacturing operations. This role is focused on ensuring customer orders are met with realistic delivery commitments, involving the generation of work orders and meticulous recording of production data. The Production Control Clerk collaborates closely with program management, comparing records and generating reports on various production aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Prepare bills of lading, packing slips, and tags for shipments.

·        Perform accurate database entry.

·        Print and distribute EDI reports.

·        Ensure the timely delivery of Advance Ship Notices (ASN).

·        Update and maintain daily shipping information.

·        Receive steel shipments and prepare tags.

·        Handle miscellaneous shipments as needed.

·        Cross-check trucking invoices for accuracy.

·        Communicate effectively with customers to understand and facilitate their product demands.

·        Assist in creating daily shipping schedules for reporting monthly production results and inventory balances.

·        Develop material releases and track/order shipment supplies.

·        Verify all shipping information to ensure accuracy.

·        Enter inspection reports daily.

·        Proactively address and correct all unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Requirements

Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess:

·        Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.

·        3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

·        Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.

·        Knowledge of material flow in a manufacturing setting.

·        Understanding of business operations and logistics.

·        Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

·        Experience in steel, forging, or automotive industries is a plus, though not required.
