Pay Rate: $16.79-$27.49 hourly

Job Description:

The Certified Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients by performing many of the technical and clerical functions associated with the preparation, packaging, distribution, and administration of drugs. These duties will be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

  • Issues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains the necessary records associated with this responsibility.
  • Performs the necessary activities associated with the preparation of sterile products and unit dose distribution system.
  • Participates in inventory management activities.
  • Assists in maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, and records consistent with regulations and standards governing the practice of pharmacy.
  • Conducts and documents inspection of assigned area of responsibility on monthly basis as well as maintaining a neat, clean, and safe work area.
  • Reviews, interprets, processes, and validates and/or dispenses medication orders and prescriptions accurately.
  • Monitors and manages patient medication therapy to ensure therapeutic appropriateness and effectiveness of drug regimens, including appropriateness to the age of the individual patient.
  • Communicates drug information to patients, family, and other health care providers.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
  • Must complete and pass a Criminal and FBI background check prior to hire.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician or a valid Pharmacy Intern License from the Ohio Board of Pharmacy required.
  • Previous hospital pharmacy practice preferred.

Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often
