Job Description

Hours: Per diem / 20 hours per week

  • High School Education or GED
  • Minimum of (5) years of work-related experience
  • Experience with medical terminology, Medical coding, trauma coding, and ICD-9 diagnostic coding
  • Experience and proficiency with various computer applications
  • Maintains and updates computerized patient log
  • Maintains, updates, and distributes the inpatient trauma patient log.
  • Conducts concurrent and retrospective medical record data abstraction for submission into the PTSF database and assists in the identification of PI indicators related to the delivery of trauma patient care and/or documentation issues.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products.
  • Experience with performance improvement implementation programs.

Certificates/Licenses/Registration State

  • Must complete Basic Registry course and AAAM Scaling Course within 1 year of Hire
  • Must obtain CSTS certification within 2.5 years of hire
