SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Culinary Events Manager, the Magical Forest Food Service Worker will perform a variety of semi-skilled kitchen/cafeteria related duties as assigned in compliance with the policies and procedures of the State of Nevada Health Department as well as Opportunity Village.

There are evening hours and weekend responsibilities with this position that may require extended hours. This is a seasonal position through the months of October 2025 – January 2026 utilized to support the Magical Forest.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide food service during Opportunity Village events. May include: food prep, food service and delivery, set up and cleanup of food service areas, dishwashing etc.
  2. Restock, replenish and update inventories as appropriate for short order area and fry stations.
  3. Follow recipe guidelines and specifications.
  4. Follow all policies and procedures according to Health Codes.
  5. Ensures sanitation and cleanliness meets Health Department standards.
  6. Provide customer service to patrons of HallOVeen and the Magical Forest.
  7. Report any safety and/or security issue to Culinary Events Manager, OV Events team member, such as Manager-on-duty or OV Security.
  8. Report any needed maintenance or items in need of repair to Culinary Events Manager.
  9. Set up and breakdown of chairs and table may be required.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
  11. Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist volunteers assigned to concession areas of HallOVeen and the Magical Forest, if requested.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, team members, and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social discernment to assess and understand other's reactions and behaviors.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • High energy, positive and enthusiastic outlook.
  • Self-directed, with strong ability to work independently, and to set and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to set priorities and follow through to completion of tasks, work well under pressure, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must encompass professional demeanor.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the Southern Nevada Health District policies and procedures.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: Minimum 1 year verifiable work experience in the Food Service industry.
  • Required: Southern Nevada Food Handlers Safety Training Card.
  • Preferred: Prior experience with developmentally disabled individuals.
