About the role
A Principal Contract Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing contracts within an organization.
Duties
- Identifying and clarifying the supplies and/or services to be acquired and developing procurement objectives and methodology which are appropriate to the value and complexity of requirements.
- Procurement planning to include preparation of acquisition and procurement plans.
- Preparing and reviewing justifications, determinations and findings, and source selection plans; serves as advisor to program officials to identify procurement objectives to be used in the preparation of statements of work.
- Source selection to include devising broad varieties and types of contract vehicles (solicitations, letter contracts, agreements, and contracts), conducting pre-proposal conferences, performing cost and price analysis, determining competitive range and evaluating contractor responsibility.
- Have the ability to use contract writing tools/software.
- Ensures that contracts adhere to legal requirements, company policies, and regulatory guidelines. This includes understanding legal implications and consulting with legal counsel when necessary.
Requirements
- Must have an active security clearance (do not apply if not)
- TS/SCI required.
- 10+ years of experience.
- Level 3 contract certification required.
- FAR Part 15 experience required.
- Have experience with IC or DoD.
- DAWIA II and FAC-C II certification required.
