Principal Planning Officer

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Knowsley to assist with the appointment of a Principal Planning Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £35.92 - £48.00 per hour

Summary:

Principal Planning Officer role within the Development Management team, focusing on managing major and complex development applications. The role involves shaping strategic growth, providing expert planning advice, and supporting high-profile residential and commercial projects across the borough.

Responsibilities:

• Manage complex and high-profile planning applications
• Review plans, reports, and development proposals
• Conduct site visits and assess development impact
• Work with developers, stakeholders, and internal teams
• Prepare reports and present at planning committees

Qualifications:

• RTPI-accredited degree (or equivalent)
• Eligibility for RTPI membership

Essential Requirements:

• Experience in planning and development management
• Strong knowledge of planning legislation and policy
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and stakeholders
• Excellent communication and report writing skills
• Full driving licence
