Compensation: Estimated annual compensation between $100,000-110,000

Employment Type: W-2 Employee, Full Time (40 hours per week), Non-Exempt

Job Summary
The Clinical Director at Positive Change Counseling oversees all clinical services and standards within the practice. This role is responsible for clinician supervision, therapist development, clinical training, and maintaining the quality of care provided to clients. The Clinical Director works closely with the Practice Manager to ensure that operational systems support excellent clinical care while maintaining a small clinical caseload. As Clinical Director, you will extend this mission to our staff—fostering a culture of growth, ethical excellence, and collaborative leadership.


Clinical Director Responsibilities:

 

Leadership & Clinical Management

  • Supervise clinical staff, including Lead Clinicians, Licensed and Associate therapists.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide ongoing performance feedback.
  • Participate in interviewing and selecting candidates for clinical positions.
  • Support onboarding of new clinicians, including orientation to practice culture and clinical expectations.
  • Lead clinical leadership meetings and collaborate with the Practice Manager on practice-wide initiatives.
  • Provide updates and strategic input to the Founder/CEO.


Clinical Supervision & Consultation

  • Provide clinical supervision to Associate clinicians and consultation to Licensed therapists.
  • Responsible for organization of monthly case consultation groups for clinicians.
  • Lead monthly supervisor consultation meetings.
  • Provide guidance to clinicians regarding complex clinical cases.
  • Maintain awareness of legal and ethical updates in psychotherapy practice.


Clinical Training & Therapist Development

  • Oversee the development and implementation of clinical training programs.
  • Maintain a training library and assign training resources to clinicians as needed.
  • Develop and implement onboarding training for clinical staff.
  • Build relationships with local graduate programs to support recruitment and professional development.

 

Clinical Quality Assurance

  • Oversee chart reviews and clinical documentation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and practice policies.
  • Monitor clinician caseload trends, retention, and clinical outcomes.
  • Review charts for records requests and audits. 

 

Operations Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to:
    o Monitor session counts and clinician productivity.
    o Identify operational improvements that support clinical care.
    o Address patient complaints or concerns.
  • Help develop and refine clinical policies and procedures. 

 

Marketing & Community Outreach

  • Maintain relationships with referral partners and community organizations.
  • Represent the practice at professional networking events.
  • Participate in community outreach or educational presentations.
  • Approve blogs for our practice website. 

 

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active caseload of approximately 12 encounters per week providing psychotherapy services.
  • Follow documentation and treatment planning standards.
  • Participate in practice consultation meetings. 


Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: Base Salary of $70,304 annually + $53 per encounter (with CPT Code Bonus Opportunities up to $15 per encounter)
  • Estimated annual compensation between $100,000-110,000
