About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Counsel to join the legal team supporting the Wells Fargo Equipment and Vendor Finance team. Part of the Commercial Banking team at Wells Fargo, Equipment and Vendor Finance is the second largest bank-owned equipment finance provider for commercial end-users, original equipment manufacturers, and equipment dealers to address their capital expenditure needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead in the provision of structuring, documentation, and transactional support related to lending and leasing products offered to Equipment and Vendor Finance's customers
  • Support capital markets and syndications teams in the acquisition and sale of transactions with other financial institutions
  • Manage the negotiation and drafting vendor programs with original equipment manufacturer and equipment dealers
  • Review and providing advice on a wide range of equipment finance transactions
  • Provide general transactional advice for secured lending, transactions working with documentation, credit, and sales team members
  • Identify and assist with regulatory compliance requirements and management of legal and operational risk
  • Draft and update transactional document templates
  • Lead complex initiatives with broad impact and act as a key participant in large scale planning
  • Review and analyze complex large scale or long-term challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
  • Independently identify and analyze complex legal issues, develop conclusions, and make recommendations for issue resolution
  • Develop and lead implementation of strategic business initiatives, and lead work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Educate, train, and supervise less experienced attorneys within the Legal department
  • Collaborate strategically with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects, teams or serve as a peer mentor
  • Develop relationships with and provide guidance to more experienced leadership, including executive officers, on issues that may present legal, regulatory, compliance, or reputational risk to the Company
  • Partner with business leaders and management of other corporate departments to develop and implement risk management programs


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States


Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a practicing attorney representing clients in secured transactions and/or equipment financing transactions
  • Solid understanding of UCC Article 9 and Article 2A
  • Knowledge and experience with U.S. laws, rules and regulations relevant to equipment financing and banking laws (the Dodd-Frank Act, the Bank Holding Company Act); bankruptcy laws; laws relating to secured transactions and creditors’ rights.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

$120,400.00 - $262,600.00
