Cedarville University is seeking a detail-oriented Campus Security Dispatcher to serve as the primary point of contact for campus safety and security operations. This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and prioritizing calls for service, dispatching officers, monitoring security systems, and coordinating communication during routine and emergency situations. This role requires strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while supporting a safe and secure campus environment.
This position has an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Customer service oriented with strong communication skills and a professional presence
• One year of education or training beyond high school, or equivalent work experience in a public-facing environment
• General computer skills, including Microsoft Word, email, and Excel
• Good clerical and typing skills (30–50 words per minute)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

REQUIRED MENTAL/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
• Ability to apply established procedures and exercise basic analytical judgment; escalate non-routine situations appropriately
• Ability to sit for extended periods while monitoring systems and entering data
• Ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing via phone and radio
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including typing, data entry, and use of communication equipment
• Ability to read screens and small text for extended periods
• Occasional bending, stooping, and lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds
• Ability to work in an indoor environment with moderate temperature variations

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to work independently and operate the dispatch center during routine and emergency situations
• Ability to maintain accurate, real-time records and documentation
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, or overnight shifts as needed
• Participation in required training related to emergency response, dispatch procedures, communication systems, and regulatory compliance
