Senior Backend Developer - PHP Laravel

We value creativity, ownership, and smart engineering.</p><p>As a <strong>Senior PHP Developer</strong>, you’ll play a key role in our product’s growth. You’ll take on leadership responsibilities within the dev team and work closely with our Lead Developer to build and scale our core systems.</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Develop and maintain server-side code using PHP and related technologies.</li> <li>Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.</li> <li>Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.</li> <li>Design and implement APIs for seamless communication between front-end and back-end systems.</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application functionality, performance, and security.</li> <li>Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.</li> <li>Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in web development.</li> <li>Develop, optimize, and maintain database schemas, queries, and indexing to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.</li> <li>Create and maintain detailed documentation of code, processes, and API specifications to facilitate collaboration and future maintenance.</li> <li>Implement and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and other testing methodologies to ensure code quality and reliability.</li> <li>Participate in setting up and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the deployment process.</li> <li>Assist project managers in estimating project timelines and deliverables and provide technical insights during project planning and execution.</li> </ul><p>You are our ideal candidate if you have:</p><ul> <li>Demonstrated experience working as a PHP Backend Developer or in a similar role, showcasing a strong track record of successful projects.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of PHP 8 and MySQL, along with proficiency in related frameworks (e.g. Laravel 9+), enabling the development of robust and efficient applications.</li> <li>Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services, allowing for seamless integration and communication between different systems.</li> <li>Led and managed cross-functional teams, providing guidance, fostering collaboration, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals to drive project success and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Solid experience with version control systems (e.g. Git), ensuring effective management of code versions and collaboration with team members.</li> <li>Proven ability to manage inter-system integrations, facilitating smooth data flow and interoperability between different software platforms.</li> <li>Solid understanding of database design, architecture and optimization techniques.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.</li> <li>Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a productive and cohesive work environment.</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills to present information to both technical and non-technical users at all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Experience with automated testing frameworks: Experience in using PHP Unit or similar testing frameworks.</li> <li>Understanding of security best practices: Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, XSS) and how to prevent them.</li> </ul><p></p><p><strong>Nice to Have:</strong></p><p>Experience with AWS<br/><br/><strong>WebRTC, FFMPEG, Apple Low-Latency HLS or SRT<br/><br/>Knowledge of Transcoder, nDVR,RTMP and DRM features</strong></p><p>Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).</p><p>Understanding of DevOps practices.</p><p>Experience with containerization technologies: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.</p><p>Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies: Experience working in an Agile development environment.</p><p>Knowledge of modern PHP features and standards: Familiarity with PHP 7/8 features and PSR standards.</p><p>Experience with NoSQL databases: Knowledge of databases like MongoDB, Redis, etc.<br/><br/><strong>And most importantly, you
