Senior Network Security EngineerWhat does a successful Senior Network Security Engineer do at Fiserv?
You will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading network security services. You will provide protection across the global organization to the underlying infrastructure from unauthorized access, misuse, or theft. You will report to the VP of Network Security and be part of the Cyber Network Security team.
What you will do:
- Serve as the Public Cloud Network Security Lead for Fiserv Global Cybersecurity Services, and work across departments (such as Cyber Cloud Security and Infrastructure Network Engineering), to develop and implement technical solutions and platforms to secure Fiserv’s public cloud ingress, egress, and transit connectivity
- Provide subject matter expertise regarding network communications across multiple public cloud platforms (currently including AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI)
- Work with Cyber and Infrastructure architecture teams to develop cloud communication security strategies and high-level designs
- Define cloud network security policies and standards for all of Fiserv’s public cloud properties, and between cloud and on-prem infrastructure, and develop and maintain reference configurations, procedures and build scripts/automation to ensure secure deployment of cloud infrastructure
- Develop and implement Cyber governance processes to manage changes and exceptions to rules, policies, configurations, and provide Cyber SME approval for public cloud network designs and implementations
- Respond to RFIs and provide answers to internal audit and government regulatory requests, as well as define, measure and report metrics to monitor compliance and effectiveness of cloud network security controls
- Implement risk management strategies and practices that continuously monitor and improve the security of Fiserv’s public cloud network infrastructure, and demonstrate effective time and priority management, careful use of resources, and the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues while providing reasoned alternatives to solve problems
- Ensure cybersecurity, internal controls, risk management, and disaster recovery processes are properly followed and resolve risk items in a timely manner. This while, being proactive in testing, identifying and remediating network and system vulnerabilities
What you will need to have:
- 5+ years of experience in Information Security for Financial Institutions (or similar regulated industries), with specific experience in developing, implementing, and managing Network Security solutions
- 5+ years of experience in modern, large-scale corporate network environments, with demonstrable, expert-level understanding of core network switching and routing concepts, protocols, and implementations
- 5+ years of experience in Network Security technology infrastructure including Firewalls, NGFWs, IDS/IPS, Web Proxy and other solutions that integrate the latest technologies to prevent and detect malicious attacks
- 4+ years of experience and advanced understanding of business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls and risk and compliance requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in areas such as IT, Computer Science, IT Security, etc.
What would be great to have:
- General understanding of cloud computing and services/traditional hardware/software platforms, including operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies
- Familiarity with deployments and integration of network security solutions within the cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Professional certification such as CISSP preferred
