Floor Nurse RN

• Essential Functions:
  • Participate in Start Sterling! daily line up.
  • Greet the Residents, guests, fellow employees and vendors in a friendly and courteous
  manner.
  • Assist in coordinating, managing and supervising all assisted living and memory care
  nursing and aide services rendered to residents by direct service staff under supervision
  • Assist with assessments and admissions of residents for service; development of the
  personalized service care plan utilizing EMR (Eldermark) and related service plan schedules
  for assisted living care services.
  • Assist with updates of assessments as often as necessary based on residents personalized
  needs and changes in condition, and in accordance with specific state requirements.
  • Provide nursing services including medication administration and delegation of supervision
  of self-administered medications in accordance with State regulations, and provision of care
  and services to residents whose conditions are allowed to be cared for within an assisted
  living per State regulations.
  • Use best-practice nursing judgment in monitoring residents’ changes in condition and take
  appropriate steps to address changes.
  • Participate in all agency objectives, standards of care, policies and procedures concerning
  nursing services and the provision of assistance with activities of daily living.
  • Assist with facilitating Quality Assurance meetings at least every 120 days.
  • Assist with ensuring medical supplies are ordered and available in adequate quantity for
  the nursing department.
  • Supports and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for:
   Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established
  fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security.
   Confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operations data.
   Quality Assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements

Other:
Employees are required to work a flexible schedule which includes, rotating weekend and holiday
shifts.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Grand Living’s standards,

efficient operation of the Community. This includes regular attendance as well as wearing the
prescribed uniform and maintaining a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Employees who
fail to meet the Grand Living expectations in all areas will be subject to disciplinary action, up to
and including termination of employment.

 

SPECIFIC POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to train and supervise
staff; meet with residents and their families to facilitate appropriate assessments and
development of personalized care plans; utilize and train others on operational software for
delivery of care documentation and recording; and communicate with other employees.
• Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the
privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work
continuously without sitting for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 30 pounds.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Associates degree in Nursing, required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, preferred.
Experience:
• Three or more years of nursing experience in a health care setting; preferably in assisted
living or home health.
• Computer skills and experience in an electronic health record environment, preferred.
Licenses or Certificates:
• Registered Nurse License in state of employment.
