GSCS PPM Internships - 4 Opportunities
We are seeking four (4) ambitious intern candidates to join our Global Supply Chain Solutions organization for our Procurement Project Management (PPM) Pillar in supporting projects in either Instrumentation & Controls, Nuclear Fuels or Operating Plant Services/Outage Management Services.
Each internship role will have similar responsibilities, with different areas of focus.
- Intern, I&C - tasks more specific to instrumentation and controls project needs at Cranberry Township, PA
- Intern, NF - tasks more specific to Nuclear Fuel large capital , construction & component qualification and secondary sourcing project needs at the Columbia, SC site
- Intern, NF - tasks more specific to Nuclear Fuel large capital, construction & component qualification and secondary sourcing project needs for the Columbia, SC site
- Intern, OPS/OMS - tasks specific to Operating Plant Services and Outage Management Services at Cranberry Township, PA
These internships will be a hybrid opportunity where you can work remotely and at either Westinghouse headquarter office location in Cranberry Township, PA. or at Westinghouse Nuclear Fuels Fabrication Facility located near Columbia, SC. The program balances our organizational needs with your interests and professional aspirations.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management Required (or Business Degree with Supply Chain Minor).
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.
- Completion of Sophomore year of college
- Must be able to work a minimum of 8 weeks; 10 plus weeks preferred.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- An advanced level of spoken and written English is required, any additional languages is a plus (Czech, Romanian, Polish, French, Italian, Spanish,…).
- Ability to work in either Pittsburgh, PA or Columbia, SC two to three days a week plus work from home one to two days a week. (hybrid remote work environment)
This position takes work cross-functionally to deliver cost, quality, delivery, reliability, and time to market goals. For projects to be on time, in full, without complaint and under budget. As a Supply Chain PPM Intern, you’ll support all procurement activities in assigned programs to assure readiness for pre-pilot, pilot, and execution.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Attending meetings and events to observe and learn in person and/or on Teams conference calls
- Conducting research and collecting data for new suppliers
- Communicating with internal and external contacts as requested
- Support the day to day activities for PPMs including help with development of sourcing & procurement strategies and plans together with Offer and Project Teams. Identify and capture the demand, identify potential suppliers.
- Support in the Preparation and coordination of the request for interest (RFI) and quote (RFQ) process and establish sourcing strategies for suppliers and services:
- Support the preparation of Proprietary Information Agreements (PIA)
- RFI and RFQ development and preparation, definition of commercial conditions
- Solicit quotations and analyze contract proposals while leading formulation of strategy and negotiation of pricing, delivery, terms and conditions to satisfy r
