Job Summary
This position is responsible for planning, managing and controlling the activities of the department that provides business intelligence support for business segments; leading initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources; advising business segments by providing data based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Key functions include market comparative analysis, various value based analytic and reporting support, provider dashboards, provider market trends, network development analysis, and ad hoc reporting. Responsible for the development of tools, systems, processes and procedures related to analytic functions to support provider contracting and other analysis activities. Work across designated internal and external entities including network management, enterprise analytics and providers.1. Leading initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources; bringing expertise or identifying subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis.
2. Advising business by providing data-based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities.
3. Ensuring that policies and procedures align with corporate vision; selecting, developing and evaluating personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function.
4. Responsible for providing business intelligence support for business segments.
5. Management of staff responsible for the analytic support of the regional Network Management team, including provider contracting support, trend review, and review and training of other applications used by Network Management.
6. Responsible for hiring, training, firing, performance management, pay administration, talent management, professional development, change management and ensuring this position and the supporting management roles maintain knowledge of corporate and human resources programs, policies, processes and systems.
7. Perform analyses to identify areas of opportunity for improvement impacting Network staff, including review of current data extraction and delivery processes, provider contract reimbursement opportunities, physician profile applications, provider transparency programs/tools, and discount improvement opportunities;
8. Key Functions include but are not limited to competitive intelligence review and reporting, market comparative analysis, support of various value based analytic and reporting functions, provider dashboards, provider market trends, network/new provider program development analysis, provider profiling analysis and new payment methodology analysis.
9. Develop and implement analytic strategies and initiatives that produce measurable opportunities and outcomes for the business segments.
10. Collaborate and serve as the analytic liaison with Enterprise teams to identify “best practices” as well as opportunities to improve efficiencies related to provider reporting and analytic activities.
11. Review and track currently available provider analysis reports and as applicable, recommend/develop new reports and/or enhancements.
12. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of systems, databases and sources, data gathering techniques, and analytical interpretations. Keeps abreast of current trends in systems design and software.
13. Responsible for the development or oversight of the development of policies and processes. Ensuring compliance and quality standards are achieved.
14. Ensure staff is trained and meets/exceeds goals, standards, objectives and initiatives.
15. Prepare and present presentations and reporting.
16. Prepare departmental budget, monitor expenses, and adhere to departmental, divisional and corporate budgets.
17. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.
18. Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
19. Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
20. Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.
