Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in ownership of AR, billing, and AP processes, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions. This position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable:
- Lead the entire AR process, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor and run outstanding receivables, ensuring timely collections.
- Prepare aging reports and analysis for management review.
- Communicate with customers regarding payment status and resolve inquiries.
Billing:
- Generate and distribute accurate invoices to customers.
- Ensure compliance with billing policies and procedures.
- Review and reconcile billing records.
- Address customer inquiries regarding billing issues.
- Prepare billing reports and analysis as needed.
Accounts Payable:
- Handle the full cycle of AP, from invoice processing to payment execution.
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Process payments in a timely manner and maintain accurate records.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Participate in the preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist Project Managers as needed with project setup and PO management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
What you bring to the Team
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with billing software.
