Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Coach, Men’s Soccer

ROLE of the POSITION

This position exists to assist the Head Soccer Coach in producing a competitive NCAA Division 1 Men’s Soccer Program on a conference, regional and national level to compete within the framework of policies set forth by the University, conference, and the NCAA. 

This position is expected to assist the Head Coach to teach student-athletes the game of soccer, promote and foster academic success and contribute to the overall development of the student-athlete by enhancing critical thinking, leadership skills and social integrity.  Duties include: supporting the Head Men's Soccer Coach by coaching athletes, recruiting, scouting, monitoring academic progress, scheduling, managing travel, overseeing the discipline and conduct of the student-athletes, manage all aspects of NCAA and MWC rules and regulations governing recruiting, community relations participation and academic liaison responsibilities.  This position reports to the Head Men's Soccer Coach.

This position should have a basic knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment.  In addition, this position will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletics Compliance, prior to participating in select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a minimum of one (1) year of coaching experience preferably at the college level and/or professional competitive experience.  Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
