Description

Job Title: Electrical Supervisor

Department: Base Operations and Maintenance

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, installing, and modifying electrical components and systems to include low, medium, and high voltage electrical distribution systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation, repair, and service of electrical systems and equipment on airport facilities such as taxiways, runways and other airfield areas, roadways, parking areas, illumination signs and structures, and traffic signal systems.
  • Oversee the location of ground faults, repair or replacement of damaged cables using various equipment and tools.
  • Use blueprints, technical manuals and test equipment to troubleshoot problems and make repairs.
  • Oversee the removal and replacement of ballasts, transformers, capacitors, sockets, starters, fuses and lamps.
  • Supervise the rebuild or replacement of electric security and parking gate components and traffic signals

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of commercial and industrial electrical/electronic systems, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment
  • Testing, installation, repair, and maintenance of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, ATS, UPS, transformers, switchboards, controllers, door operators, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, IR scans, or other transmission equipment
  • Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings
  • Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables
  • Ensures piping complies with electrical codes
  • Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them
  • Connects electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building
  • Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation
  • Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed
  • Replaces conduit and wiring as needed
  • Replaces circuit breakers as needed
  • Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces and the workshop
  • Assist maintenance teams
  • Solely identify and resolve failures/alarms related to critical building equipment
  • Adhere to state and local building regulations
  • Complete work orders on time
  • Create records of materials used

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements
  • Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and vo
