Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Technical Lead
Working Pattern: Full time
Working location: Indianapolis, IN
As the Manufacturing Engineering Technical Lead you will be the Technical Authority for the Supplier Management Team by integrating all Manufacturing Engineering activity across the product lifecycle and through the supply chain. Lead, manage and develop the Manufacturing Engineers within the team. Professionally accountable to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:
With this exciting opportunity you will be the Technical Authority for the supply chain, accountable for the Method of Manufacture and compliance to Design Intent while ensuring that manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture are capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time.
Key Accountabilities:
Approving component airworthiness through the processing of critical data associated with component definition, associated specifications, and compliance to Rolls-Royce procedures
Subject to appropriate delegation, Chair the change authority.
Lead the technical input into the supply chain strategy, including ensuring that Commodity and Manufacturing Process strategy implications are included in relevant capital plans.
Integrate Capability Acquisition and Product Introduction activities, buying off new capabilities and methods of manufacture for new parts/assemblies.
Ensure new capabilities/methods are at the required level of readiness for production application.
Develop numerate, real time methods for capturing process capability, and ensure it is available and acted on within the facility/supply chain and in new product design.
Working with the Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders and Manufacturing Process Owners, drive manufacturing processes towards identified consistent best practice.
Lead technical problem resolution and technical improvement activities. Coach the community in the use of RRPS and DMAIC tools.

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, or
Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, or
JD/PhD
Must be a U.S. Citizen or US Permanent Resident to be considered for this role
Preferred Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to discuss both technical and business issues with all levels of management within the supply chain and Rolls-Royce
Experience bringing diverse groups together to resolve technical issues and problems and perform root cause analysis
DMAIC Yellow and/or Green and/or Black Belt Certification
Understanding of metal removal and/or casting processing of Aerospace components
