JOB SUMMARY
The Department Data Analyst Sr. provides advanced analytical and reporting support to departmental leadership by extracting, validating, and interpreting complex data from institutional systems to inform operational, clinical, financial, and strategic decisions. This role leads the development and maintenance of dashboards, performance metrics, and standardized reports, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity in alignment with institutional data governance standards. The analyst collaborates closely with leadership, IT, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable insights, conducts ad hoc and trend analyses, and supports performance improvement initiatives. The position also serves as a subject matter expert for departmental data workflows and reporting methodologies, while mentoring junior analysts and continuously identifying opportunities to improve data quality, efficiency, and decision-support capabilities.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Information Management, Healthcare Information, Statistics, Business or closely related field.
- Experience
5 years of Data management/analyst experience
A combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.
Preferred
- Education
Master's Degree
Experience
Work in a clinical or healthcare related field
Familiarity with scientific terms (in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, etc.)Previous experience working in a clinical, medical, or academic environment.
Previous coding experience with SQL and / or Python
JOB DUTIES
- Primary data steward responsible for all department databases, source systems and data structures.
- Responsible for the abstraction of data, analysis of data, and subsequent interpretation of data/ recommendations for consideration by departmental leadership, technical counterparts, and all relevant institutional business users.
