The Senior Accountant oversees and manages the daily operations of several entities within the corporate accounting department.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage accounting operations including month and year-end process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, fixed asset activity and debt activity.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Coordinate and support annual audits.
- Suggest improvements to systems and procedures.
- Meet financial accounting objectives and reporting deadlines.
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
- Other projects and duties and assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Yardi.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and accounting software/databases.
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
