A day in the life:

The Associate Art Director brings industry expertise, valued insight, and strategic design/edit skills to the firm and clients. The person in this role will serve as a mentor to designers/editors, providing senior client counsel as needed, overseeing design/editing execution, visual best practices, quality of work, and providing experiential design/editing insight confidently. This person is responsible for developing, grooming, and fostering the designers/editors skill set and identifying training opportunities. This role also includes Executive Sponsorship, management, client management, design/edit directing, and execution for accounts/projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Directly oversee the execution of all design/edit deliverables 
  • Ensure quality and design/editing best practices on all deliverables
  • Work directly with Associate Creative Directors, Design Leads, Strategy Leads, and Edit Leads teams to ensure alignment & quality of including:
    • Art Direction & Execution
  • Associate Art Directors for integrated clients that require creative for multiple channels (Performance Ad Creative, Email, Creative Lite, Banners, etc.); Final say on quality of creative execution across all deliverable types
  • Know the clients brand guide by heart + know common feedback
  • Manage the growth & success of up to 4 mid-Sr. Direct Reports
  • Assist on client escalation & creative problem solving for key accounts
  • Ensure on-time delivery for all design/edit-based deliverables of direct reports’ projects and accounts 
  • Lead internal creative brainstorms, review, feedback, & direction prior to client delivery
  • Develop new workflows and optimize current ones to ensure that our team is creating the best work possible

 

Role Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in design/editing and creative; 5+ ad agency experience preferred
  • A strong understanding of creative execution as it relates to; visual design, branding, and the digital landscape + application of marketing strategy to visual design
    • Design: design systems and principals
    • Editing: motion graphics and rules for audio and cadence
  • Experience managing a team of designers/editors and/or oversee 3+ direct reports and confidence in your ability to communicate with your team(s) and clients
  • Attention to detail on all work, timelines, and communication with clients and fellow team members; ability to multitask & be flexible in daily tasks within an agency culture
  • Proficiency with a wide range of media and use graphic design software including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch, Figma, XD, etc.

  • RPE goal of $20,000 avg. per person within pod or your DRs
  • Below 10% Client Churn Rate for
