Assistant Professor Higher Education
Boston CollegeAbout the role
Description
The Higher Education program in the Lynch School of Education and Human Development (LSEHD) at Boston College invites applications for a full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2025. You can learn more about our program HERE.
The program seeks applicants whose scholarship advances our understanding of student development and student affairs. The program has a particular interest in scholars with a strong background in college student development, contextual factors that influence student experiences, student engagement, and/or college student environments.
Promising candidates will be able to draw on a range of different disciplinary perspectives and methodological approaches to inform their work. We invite researchers whose scholarship informs policy and improves practice to apply. In line with the Catholic-Jesuit characteristics of Boston College and LSEHD mission to “make the world more just,” we encourage applications from scholars whose research incorporates diversity and social justice as cross-cutting themes and that may have implications that would support the thriving of individuals from minoritized and underrepresented identity groups.
Successful candidates will have an outstanding record of research productivity; the potential to develop independent, externally-funded research; ability to mentor graduate students and supervise doctoral dissertations; professional experience in student affairs administration; and an ability to collaborate with others for the good of the department, university, and their scholarly field.
