Part-Time Lecturer in Communication, School of Communication and Journalism

Description

The School of Communication and Journalism seeks part-time, non-tenure track lecturers to teach in our Department of Communication. 

The positions involve teaching different communication courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level that range from introductory level courses (e.g., Fundamentals/Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Critical Media Theory, Team Collaboration and Community Engagement), to more advanced courses covering communication theory and research methods. Instructors may be hired to teach one or more courses depending on their expertise and the current needs of the Department of Communication.

These are non-tenure track positions to begin in the Fall 2026 semester (August 24, 2026). These are one-semester appointments with the potential for renewal. Candidates can be assigned to one or more courses depending on availability.

Salary: $5,500 per 3-credit course

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in communication or mass communication. Minimum of one year of experience teaching communication courses at the college level.

 

Preferred Qualifications: PhD (or foreign equivalent) in communication or mass communication. Five years of teaching communication courses at the college level. Experience teaching communication theory and/or methods courses. Experience teaching at the graduate level
