About the job
SAS Risk, Fraud & Compliance R&D division produces leading-edge solutions used to detect and prevent financial crime, implement sanctions screening, aide criminal investigations, etc. we are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to design, build, and support scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and test suites to ensure quality within expected timelines during the development cycle.
As a Senior Software Developer in Test, you will:
- Create and maintain high quality of test automation using modern development techniques, both inside and outside of the CDP and provide key data points to support metrics-based decision making.
- Produce and analyze metrics that illustrate the quality of applications and develop insight that drives the direction of quality engineering.
- Work collaboratively with development, product and devops teams to promptly triage test failures with precision and accuracy, maintaining the health of the build pipeline.
- Engages in code reviews for product, test, and infrastructure code.
- Understands the role of deployment, migration, security, and performance in the continuous delivery lifecycle.
- Improve mean time to resolution by leading triage with precision and accuracy, maintaining the health of the build pipeline
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience developing automated tests
- 8+ years of experience using Python or Java
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related quantitative field
- Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
- Experience working in an agile software development environment, including sprint planning and delivery of sprint commitments, Jira
- Test design and implementation experience with web-based microservices, REST interfaces, and the OpenAPI specification
- Has developed innovative best practice solutions that improve quality engineering across team or divisional boundaries
- Demonstrated ability to distinguish between testing layers, match the correct approach to each situation, and design effective quality gates based on these layers.
- Experience working with container platforms and technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes and cloud deployments
- Proficient with source control management techniques (including branching, code review, and merging).
- Customizing deployment, migration, security, and performance in the continuous delivery lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with test frameworks used for testing software in a CI/CD pipeline
- Experience with Kubernetes and service-oriented architecture
- Experience with Jira
- Experience with Ubuntu
- Experience with VSCode or IntelliJ
- Experience with cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, GCP
