Position Overview
As a Survey Office Technician you will assist the project survey team with engineering theory and calculations to achieve completed design, technical CAD work and other various field survey operations.
District Overview
Kiewit Southwest District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water projects, we typically self-perform a large portion of the work. We do self-performance work such as mass grading, drainage, PCCP paving, utilities and more. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry with safety, quality, costs and schedule in mind.

Responsibilities
- Assist surveyors by providing and verifying accuracy of technical CAD work
- Developing geometric layout, grading, drainage, profiles, cross sections, pavement markings, and details
- Applying engineering theory and/or performs necessary mathematical calculations to achieve the completed design.
- Reviewing and analyzing topographic survey and digital terrain model (DTM) surfaces
- Calculating construction quantities using CAD software
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 2 year degree in Surveying/ Engineering/ Geospatial Engineering or 3 years’ experience in heavy construction surveying is required
- Proficient in CAD and construction survey systems
- Ability to work 50+ hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional knowledge in Trimble Business Center
- Ability to create surfaces, alignments, profiles, cross sections, corridors, pipe networks, and grading
- Ability to develop project plans for civil site, and/or airport design projects
- Implementing corporate CAD standards
- Reviewing and analyzing topographic survey and digital terrain model (DTM) surfaces
