Position Title:                        Application Development Supervisor

Summary of Duties: Responsible for the effective management of an application development team charged with the software development of product suites. Interview, hire, and manage staff members under your supervision. Participate in the budgeting process for funding of applications, tools, and services necessary to accomplish departmental goals. Prioritize, assign, and monitor work assignments to staff members. Oversee the design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation activities of assigned staff. Monitor team performance against goals and project tasks; take proactive action when obstacles or risks are encountered. Provide positive leadership in the form of vision and direction to the staff. Manage the development group that is building, configuring, maintaining, and enhancing Insite applications throughout the application life cycle. Develop and enhance methodologies and practices for the application life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement. From the perspective of a System Architect and with additional emphasis upon applications development, actively participate with department management to develop an overall Insite program strategy. As part of the management team, work closely and collaboratively with Design, Engineering, IT, Service, and Sales to understand their perspective and be accommodating to their business needs. Manage applications group personnel by conducting Talent Development Discussions and developing their skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the organization, as well as building on existing recruiting capabilities to address new needs and skills gaps. Ensure the organization's applications are effectively secured and that risks are identified and mitigated. Ensure the developed applications function in compliance with the company’s Data Privacy guidelines. Remote work available. 20% travel to home office required.

 

Qualifications: Master’s in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technological field, and three (3) years of experience as an Applications Developer, Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or related role. Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technological field and five (5) years of experience as an Applications Developer, Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or related role. Must also have three (3) years of experience with: Java Development Experience. Two (2) years of experience with: Python Development Experience; and System Architecture Experience. One (1) year of experience with: Employee Development; and Leadership in Governance and Compliance.
