The Patriot Program Quality Lead (PQL) in Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS), will support the European Command (EUCOM) program area at our Tewksbury, MA location.  Responsibilities include promoting and executing with a quality mindset, quality practices, knowledge sharing, and supporting customer partnership. This Individual should have a strong quality mindset, proficient communication skills and the ability to lead teams and collaborate across multiple functions to support the EUCOM program area as a member of the Program Leadership Team (PLT).

The successful candidate will proactively engage with the product line and work in partnership with Program Leadership, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Operations and the Quality team. You will work to ensure the effective implementation of Quality and Mission Assurance requirements of the programs, and occasionally interface with U.S. Government Customers, Foreign Customers, and Suppliers.  You will facilitate proactive engagement across our factories and suppliers that assist the Global Patriot portfolio, implement quality processes to reduce overall product lifecycle cost and risk.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, proactive review of program contract requirements, Continuous Improvement activities, and measurement of financial performance. 

This is an on-site position in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

What You Will Do:

  • Interface with the program quality teams, Program Leadership Teams, suppliers, customers, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure technical, quality, and financial performance and compliance to Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Proactively review program contract requirements to meet and influence customer needs.
  • Closely interface with external and internal customers and key partners to establish effective relationships.
  • Must have the ability to manage and impact across multiple levels of stakeholders, as it is vital to the success of this role.
  • You will be responsible for:
    • Delivered products and services to our customers, stakeholders of quality risks, uncertainties and opportunities, key team members in resolution of customer expectations and relationships related to Quality and Mission Assurance (QMA).
    • Developing and implementing strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans that will closely affect the programs’ implementation and influence.
    • Improving processes or systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation skills. Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined, and information is typically difficult to obtain.
  • Assuring inclusion of quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program proposals and subsequent management of the quality budget.
  • Monitor / lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.  Identify when such activities are warranted.
  • Generation of new Cost of Quality (CoQ) projects to reduce costs on the program.
  • Implement APQP as applicable.

Qualification You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (8) years of engineering experience.
  • Working experience within a Quality Division at a commercial, defense, or aerospace company
  • Working experience with performance to cost, schedule, and technical performance including Cost Accounting Methodologies (Earned Value).
  • Working experience in providing technical program oversight for manufacturing and/or design processes.
