Job Description
The Commercial Finance Analyst will be a critical role for supporting the organic growth initiatives of the division. This is a newly created role and will directly report to the Division Controller. This role is the primary liaison between the finance function and the commercial function and will develop deep partnerships and domain expertise with the Sales team. As such, the Commercial Finance Analyst will also be a dotted line report to the Sales & Engineering Director. In addition, this role will need to collaborate with other crossfunctional teams including Engineering, Innovation, Operations, IT and HR, across a multi-site Division for driving growth initiatives.
- Revenue forecasting: Drive the revenue forecasting process to develop short-term and long-term forecasts for Monthly/Quarterly Outlook, Annual Plan and Long-range Plans
- Revenue analytics for actionable insights:
- Monthly and quarterly revenue analysis with meaningful variance commentary o Analysis of Addressable Market, Market-share, $/car and Revenue by OEM, Product, Region etc.
- Analysis of Secured vs Unsecured revenue and gap-assessment (over LRP) for simulation of sales targets
- Sales Pipeline Monitoring: Monitor Sales Pipeline through the Sales Process from Target stage until Sold-Order (Business award), including conversion rates
- Sales Audit: Perform monthly audit of booked sold orders
- Segmentation Analysis: Strategic analysis to support appropriate Segmentation for revenues
- Customer quotes: Develop/maintain financial and pricing models for commercial deals, s and highlight financial implications of commercial decisions for recommendations.
- Pricing support: Assist Sales team in gathering pricing & cost data by OEM, track changes and margins over time to make recommendations during negotiations with customers
- KPIs & Dashboards: Develop and monitor Sales KPIs; and implement Dashboards for KPI reporting
- Contract Management: Ensure the Division CRM and other tools and processes in place for document management such as contracts, quotes, meet Division requirements.
- IT systems: Support any IT systems or applications related to Sales or ERP for Revenue management
- Partner with Operations to develop ‘commercial-thinking’ across different areas in manufacturing sites and for translating commercial strategies/tactics into the manufacturing site action-plans.
- Participate in ITW Toolbox Initiatives within the business (FTB 80/20, USa, PLS).
- Other commercial focused finance projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales/Marketing, Accounting/Finance or Business Administration
- 3-6 years of commercial or finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience partnering with the commercial or sales organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is a must
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to effectively communicate across levels
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.) with proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to manage large data sets using VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables
- Ability to manage and prioritize daily functions as well as the ability to multi-task is critical
- Prior-experience with Power-BI or other BI-Dashboard tools is a plus
- Excitement to work in a fast-paced environment that's deadline driven and focused on creating cross-functional value-added partnerships
