Job Description

The ideal candidate lives in NJ, NY, DC, or MA, has multi-state knowledge, and can travel up to 75%.

The People and Culture Business Partner (PCBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The PCBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition. 

The ideal candidate possesses the following attributes:  

  • Excellent interpersonal skills  
  • Communication skills with all levels of employees in the English language  
  • Demonstrated ability to present in front of an audience   

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Directly support managers by assisting them in carrying out their responsibilities with regard to people related matters; this includes interpreting and advising on employment policies, programs, and guidelines   
  • Work closely with other corporate HR teams to adjust, administer, and broker HR services related to compensation, benefits, LOA’s, workers compensation, etc.   
  • Understand and use People and Culture KPIs to advise the business on actions and guidance given  
  • Ensure new employee orientation  
  • Hold regular People and Culture meetings with managers in area of responsibility  
  • Coordinate and conduct employee feedback sessions with managers as appropriate; assist management with action planning  
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures as part of continuous improvement 
  • Coordinate or conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation  
  • Assist with staff development for HQ Employees  
  • Participate in committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities as appropriate 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources or related area; master’s degree preferred  
  • Minimum five years of experience in human resources, with at least two years as a business partner   
  • Ability to travel up to 75% within the US is required; some international travel 
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws and application thereof  
  • Strong project management and implementation of programs experience  
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
