Position Summary:

The Patient Access Representative plays a key role in creating a welcoming environment for patients and ensuring smooth daily operations at the front desk. This position is responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and supporting patients with check-in and check-out processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a warm, professional manner

  • Educate the patient regarding procedure prep, insurance requirements and billing

  • Obtain copies of insurance cards and verify insurance eligibility 

  • Collect and post payments, co-pays, and deductibles

  • Assist patients with new patient paperwork and answer general inquiries

  • Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic information

  • Coordinate referrals and communicate with external providers

  • Support other administrative duties as assigned

  • Ensure reception area is ready for each working day and open the facility for business each day. 
  • Secure the building at the close of each business day.

Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience

  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Knowledge of medical terminology 

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in EMR systems (eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar preferred)
