What You’ll Be Doing:

Amogy is seeking a HIL Application Development Engineer to join our Systems Engineering, Integration and Testing team with hands on experience in developing setup and provide and maintain Hardware-in-loop (HIL) benches for AMGOY’s power systems. As part of the Product Development team, this role will focus on developing HIL setup for reactor-combustor system and fuel cells and gaseous fuel (preferably hydrogen) combustion system.

• Own setup, maintain and development of AMOGY’s HIL system
• Own all aspects of HIL development, testing and verification for Amogy’s power system right from lab to field trials for Marine, on-highway and stationary power generation
• Understand stakeholder’s requirement for operation of power system and develop test plan to validate, verify in a HIL setup
• Develop application specific requirements on HIL setup (open/closed-loop)
• Develop, maintain bench setup to verify controls operations/checks and perform tests
• Perform hardware setup for HIL for each application that involves AMOGY’s power pack system along with Fuel Cell module and battery electrification systems
• Integrate plant models to perform hybrid HIL-MIL models
• Perform open-loop and closed-loop bench commissioning
• Prepare and establish protocols for validation and performance test of AMOGY’s power system pack in HIL setup.
• Setup and execute validation and verification objectives
• Perform HIL tests for individual modules as well as for the integrated power system
• Work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers who will integrate chemical reactors, combustors, fuel cell modules and electronics into manufacturing-ready power pack designs
• Operate in Agile framework and keep internal and external stakeholders/partners well informed of verification and validation testing

Requirements

Minimum requirements we seek:

• BS/MS with 7+ or Ph.D. with 5+ years of work experience in HIL development and testing.
• Degree in Mechanical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering
• 3 years of hands on experience in developing HIL test setup, conducting validation and verification through HIL testing (dSPACE)
• Hands on experience in using SIMULINK or control algorithms development
• Knowledge of fuel cell, reactor systems and/or engine control system development tools
• Hands-on experience in using programming language [C++, Python]
• Strong understanding of various sensors (pressure, temperature), flow meters and control valves to be used for testing of power system
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
• Knowledge of six-sigma methods

Preferred Experience

• 5 years of hands on experience in HIL development and testing of power systems such as fuel cells, Battery system and engines
• Strong understanding of combustion and reactor systems, fuel cells operation and battery electrification of vehicles
• Experience as a senior HIL application engineer in leading young engineers in testing and hardware evaluation using HIL
• Experience developing technologies for the aerospace, automotive, or maritime industries leveraging HIL setup .
