The Department of Physics at Oklahoma State University (OSU) invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics (CMP). The successful candidate should have a strong record of experimental CMP research with a preference for research related to the discovery/development/characterization of materials for electronic and/or optoelectronic applications. We particularly encourage applicants who can form collaborations within the department’s CMP and AMO/photonics groups, all of which have a significant materials physics component, and with research groups across OSU. The successful candidate is expected to attract extramural research funding. 

The Department of Physics welcomes applications from outstanding candidates, who, through their research, teaching, and/or service will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the Physics Department. A Ph.D. in Physics or an allied field is required as well as the promise of excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates will be expected to support the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds and to demonstrate a commitment to engaging communities underrepresented in the academy.

Appointments at the Assistant Professor level are expected with a start date of August 1, 2019.
