Under the general supervision of the Clinical Neurophysiology Administrative Manager, you will serve as the Patient Care Coordinator/Surgery Scheduler (Administrative Assistant III), primarily responsible for scheduling and coordinating surgeries. You will work with seizure disorder center neurologists to arrange all pre-surgical testing and track patient evaluations, regularly updating the necessary team members. This role ensures strong communication between the Department of Neurosurgery and key players involved in patient surgeries, including neuroradiology, nursing, epileptologists, lab, and EEG teams. Your duties will include a range of administrative, secretarial, and receptionist tasks to support both Adult and Pediatric Epilepsy Neurosurgical Programs while ensuring continuity of care and support for patients and their families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating, scheduling, and managing patient surgeries and follow-up care
  • Scheduling clinic appointments and assisting with pre and post surgery appointments
  • Track patient pre-surgical evaluations and notify all pertinent team members of status on regular basis
  • Entering referrals and orders
  • Assisting with obtaining insurance pre-certifications and referral authorizations
  • Processing requests for medical records
  • Cross-cover for other patient care coordinators in CNP as needed
