Medical Assistant Supervisor– Full Time- Durango Integrated Healthcare – Durango, CO

Position Summary: The role of the Medical Assistant Supervisor is to provide clinical and administrative support to the psychiatry team through supervision of a team of psychiatric assistants. Medical Assistant Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a high level of customer service to patients, minimizing administrative tasks for psychiatric providers and implementing effective workflows for patient care.

Our ideal candidate for our Medical Assistant Supervisor position will have their high school diploma or equivalent associate’s degree preferred, and 2 years in a healthcare or behavioral healthcare setting; Preferred 2 years in a supervisory role with medical assistant certification, preferred.

Salary: Starting at $23.50 (Starting $21.00 + locale differential $2.50 = $20.00) - $27.02 per hour (non-exempt - hourly) and considers preferred experience and preferred education described above.

This position includes a $2.50 locale differential at our Durango worksites.

Physical demands: Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Axis Health System locations. Possible potential exposure to communicable disease. Medical Assistant Supervisor Tasks

• Supervision of assigned medical assistant staff, including providing daily guidance and assistance to staff, demonstrating expertise in the use of the Electronic Health Record, Telehealth platforms, Electronic Prescribing, Provider-Assistant communication platforms, and the Patient Portal.
• Provides Medical Assistant duties approximately half of their time. Ensures coverage of medical assistant support for psychiatric providers.
• Collaborates with RN manager to hire, train and provide performance evaluation to assigned staff.
• Ensures Medical Assistants complete and maintain all required competencies.
• Ensures Medical Assistants work within an approved scope of clinical care, and bring clinical issues to RN Manager or Psychiatric Provider for appropriate clinical decision
