Software Engineer - Analytical Database, Ads Data Infrastructure

About The Team

Our Ads Data Infrastructure team builds OLAP systems that power our advertisement monetization products' data needs. At TikTok's scale, our team is constantly developing solutions to push the boundaries of OLAP performance. Team members will focus on the development of ByteDance's core high-performance and highly-available analytical databases. They are based on open-source projects, but with many modifications and improvements that we have iterated on for several years. In this role you'll dive deep into distributed storage engines like Elasticsearch, ClickHouse, and Doris and optimize their performance under various workloads at the source code level. In this role you'll see a direct link between your work and how it enables Tiktok's advertisement monetization systems to run at blazing high speeds. Responsibilities

- Develop core OLAP features based on open source and in-house technologies to empower TikTok's Ads Data Team products

- Continuously invest in cutting-edge OLAP technologies and scale our systems as business grows

- Work with the Ads Data Team to identify pain points proactively in their big data analysis scenarios, and design custom database optimizations at the source code level

- Become the data infra PoC for an area of Ads Data Team product and build great customer experiences
