Job Description
The DNAnexus Professional Services Group is passionate about partnerships and client success. Our partnership culture is as important as the technology DNAnexus provides to our clients. Our Professional Services Group includes highly sought after experts including data scientists, bioinformaticians, cloud computing specialists, and software engineers. We seek a strong program manager to own client engagements, broker our expertise and be accountable for our client’s success. You will be managing a portfolio of projects throughout their life cycle. You will work cross-functionally, from pre-sales through delivery, to ensure success criteria are established and achieved so that clients are ultimately delighted.
To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to effectively interact with clients at all levels of management and be able to lead cross-functional teams. Experience working on teams of various sizes in a fast-paced start-up environment where initiative, flexibility, and the attitude to take on a variety of responsibilities are inherent to the role.
Program Managers may work remotely and communicate through phone, email, or other technological means.
Responsibilities:
- Be accountable for program success and customer satisfaction
- Develop healthy working relationships with customers, ensure transparency, and manage expectations
- Drive project definition by collecting customer requirements and proposing solutions
- Respond to RFIs, RFPs and develop statements of work and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on them
- Manage progress and provide timely communication on program objectives, milestones, status, and metrics
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of best practices and operational excellence
- Identify new professional services opportunities and help grow existing accounts
- Ensure financial goals are achieved for assigned programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science, software engineering, or business
- An advanced degree in bioinformatics, or life science, and/or an MBA is highly desirable
- 8+ years of progressive experience, including 4+ years in consulting, services, or program/project management role
- Experience in bioinformatics, biotech, clinical research, or healthcare is desirable
- Advanced experience with project management tools, time tracking systems, and professional services automation (i.e. Smartsheets, JIRA, Netsuite)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written; able to communicate clearly and effectively with members of the technical team and executives
- Experience collecting requirements and drafting statements of work that accurately articulate the scope of the engagement and deliverables
- Experience working with finance, solid understanding of building support around the delivery of professional services for financial statement audits
- Highly organized with ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities
- Experience working in a high-growth start-up environment where business rules are continuously being defined and evolving
- Self-starter, highly proactive with the ability to work with minimal guidance and direction
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting, priorities in a complex environment
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual starting salary for this position is between $160,000 – $180,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
