Sr. Maintenance Specialist I (One Call)
MR06 – Starting rate depending on experience
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Senior Maintenance I - One Call repairs and performs maintenance on all mechanical/electrical within the envelope of buildings and perimeter. One Call is responsible for answering and reacting to customers’ needs and concerns 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This is a specialty group whose primary focus is customer service by answering the One Call phone in a professional manner, interpreting customer’s needs, performing or facilitating necessary repairs with an excellent customer satisfaction outcome. This group performs any repairs required by customers, to include lighting, ceilings, doors and hardware, restrooms, general plumbing, etc. The position requires the ability to follow all repairs through to completion including repairs that are performed by other Facilities Services Shops while maintaining contact with the customer keeping them informed of progress. This position will assist in the training of new Zone Maintenance and One Call employees. They will inspect campus buildings as time permits making repairs as needed or make lists of noted repair issues to turn in to the Foreman. They will be annually trained in handling and preventing fires, in addition to proper use and care of a respirator. Must complete and maintain certification from OSHA.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have the ability to:
-Accurately research needed procedures, parts and equipment for daily operation.
-Accurately troubleshoot mechanical and electric control systems.
-Climb a ladder and/or work from a lift when height of task is over (6) feet high.
-Use power tools and have a working knowledge of materials, systems, and code requirements related to maintenance of college facilities.
-High School diploma (or GED) is required.
-Four years of experience or trade school and experience. Experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
-Must be trained in electrical arc flash safety procedures and must be able to wear associated PPE.
-Valid TN Driver’s License
