Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Family Peer Specialist for our Wraparound Intensive Services team (WISe) to support parents and caregivers of children and youth experiencing serious emotional disturbances. This role focuses on empowering families, providing advocacy, and fostering a network of support to navigate behavioral health services. As a peer with lived experience, you will provide mentorship, help families develop coping skills, and connect them with critical community resources. Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct peer support to parents and caregivers, fostering empowerment and self-advocacy.
• Assist families in navigating community services, including housing, employment, healthcare, and legal advocacy.
• Help parents build skills for daily living, financial management, and accessing reliable transportation.
• Offer coaching and mentorship to encourage participation in their child’s treatment and recovery journey.
• Support families in Child & Family Team meetings, Individualized Education Plan (IEP) conferences, and court proceedings.
• Guide families in accessing social and recreational activities that promote wellness and connection.
• Advocate for families experiencing stigma or barriers to accessing care.
• Maintain timely documentation and participate in case reviews with the treatment team.
