EPIQ Legal Intellectual Property (IP) Internet Analyst Job Summary:
Provide on-site Legal Intellectual Property (IP) Analyst services on behalf of Epiq Global Business Transformation (GBTS) legal clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Intellectual Property File-Keeping and Management: Oversee a portfolio of the firms' intellectual property, including managing trademark, patent, and copyright registrations, renewals, and maintaining accurate records. The Intellectual Property Analyst will NOT be responsible for day-to-day docketing but will oversee and manage day-today interactions with trademark and patent counsel.
- Search & Analysis: Conduct thorough trademark searches and analysis to identify potential conflicts or issues related to new product names, logos, and other brand elements.
- Infringement Monitoring: Monitor the market for potential trademark infringements and unauthorized uses of the firm’s client’s intellectual property. Collaborate with legal teams to address and resolve infringement matters.
- Documentation: Draft and review intellectual property-related documentation, including cease and desist letters, client communications, and filing instructions.
- Litigation Support: Collaborate with counsel and internal stakeholders in handling brand-related disputes and litigation including compiling and preparing evidence in support of opposition and cancellation proceedings.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our client's Intellectual Property (IP) Attorneys to search internet for & review online websites, blogs, social media, mobile devices, and internal and external data bases for infringing or problematic content.
- Review, utilize, and maintain various databases (including Salesforce) with client information.
- Monitor and docket deadlines.
- Responsible for conducting research, assembling legal documents and evidence, and maintaining databases and tracking systems
- Decipher laws, rulings, and regulations in legal papers and assemble, proof, and amend drafts including contracts or leases.
- Analize monitor, study, and develop written summaries of legislation which could be anticipated.
- Prepare and generate reports in Word and Excel for client meetings
- Various other projects as needed for both administrative legal teams and legal support specialists
- Answer incoming telephone calls and forward to the appropriate person.
- Take accurate and complete messages for those who are unavailable.
- Promptly greet and announce visitors in a friendly and business-like manner.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Preferred College Degree from a four-year institution.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience preferably in a professional environment.
- Previous experience in a client service field preferred.
- Ability to multitask with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle challenge issues with professionalism, patience, and diplomacy.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- M-F 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
The Compensation range for this role is 72,996 to 80,000 USD per and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
