What you'll do...
Job Summary:
- We are looking for a passionate, creative data scientist professional to join Inkiru Data Science team @Walmart Global Tech.
- You will have the unique opportunity to work with massive business and social data generated by Walmart Inc.'s unparalleled online and offline commerce.
- You will be responsible to use cutting-edge machine learning, deep learning, data mining, and optimization techniques to design and prototype robust, scalable predictive models and analytics solutions.
- You will be a part of a cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, product managers, and business professionals that sit at the intersection of data science, big data, IT infrastructure, and business operations.
About Team:
Inkiru is a fraud & risk engine that develops Enterprise Risk as a Service using machine learning and deep learning techniques to mitigate various types of risk by aggregating information from omni-channel touchpoints.
What you'll do:
- Research and develop state-of-the-art algorithms that address complex business problems.
- Research and build patent application, tech blog, publication etc.
- Use machine learning, deep learning and data mining techniques to develop robust predictive models in areas such as anomaly detection, abusive returns and E-Commerce & Financial Service fraud detection.
Pull data from warehouse and cloud, perform feature engineering, back-test models, compare model performances and communicate the results to stakeholders.
What you'll bring:
- Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in any STEM field plus five years of related experience.
- Proven track record in innovation and research such as patent application, hackathon, tech blog posting, conference presentation, and publication.
- Technical expertise in data mining, machine learning, statistical analysis, and/or deep learning.
- Proficient in machine learning and data mining packages in Python and other open source packages.
- Experience working with large data sets and distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, or Spark).
- Experience in operating from a cloud environment such as Google Could Platform or Microsoft Azure.
- Programming skills in one of the following languages: Hive SQL, Java, or JavaScript on a UNIX or Linux platform.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
- Good communication skills, ability to work with cross functional teams of technical and non-technical members.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years relevant industry experience (3+ years in Risk Management preferred)
